Introduction
The Junior School is a single form entry of up to 20 girls per year group which is lead by The Head of Primary, Mrs Angie Tolcher.
The Junior School is situated on the lower ground floor of the main College buildings and, in addition to the classrooms, features a garden area, IT room, library, hall and dining room for hot lunches. The classrooms are light and spacious, leading out on to the garden area and playground and the junior classes are able to make use of specialist teaching areas in the Senior College for art, science, P.E. and food technology.
The small class sizes provide high levels of one-to-one contact and teaching assistance to ensure good progress through individual support.
All of our classrooms are fitted with interactive whiteboards, which not only enhance your child's learning experience, but also helps them become more familiar with electronic technology.
Extra-Curricular activities are actively encouraged in the Junior Department. At the beginning of every new term they have the choice of various clubs ranging from art, music, knitting, ICT, netball and rounders to cookery. Also available are dance classes with teachers from the Blondel Earl Dance and Theatre Arts Centre. Children have the opportunity to learn a variety of dance styles. For our aspiring linguists we also offer Guernsey French.
