Lt Governor, Sir Fabian Malbon and Lady Malbon's visit to Blanchelande
Blanchelande Girls' College were recently honoured by a visit from the Lt Governor, Sir Fabian Malbon and Lady Malbon. The visit, which coincided with the 10th anniversary of Blanchelande at the Les Vauxbelets site, was much anticipated by both staff and pupils alike. Sir Fabian also unveiled our new wall hangings which had been purchased to serve as a focus during our assemblies. Afterwards, Sir Fabian and Lady Malbon were given a guided tour around the whole college and spoke to students in all departments. Sir Fabian showed great enthusiasm in all of the pupils work but the frog spawn in the infant department was of particular interest. Lady Malbon is often presented with flowers, but Sir Fabian commented, that he does not receive any similar gifts. The pupils were quick to offer Sir Fabian four froglets, when they developed, to make their new home in the Government house pond. A clearly thrilled Sir Fabian said he would be delighted with the gift. A few weeks later Salt, Pepper, Jimbob and Hoppy were presented by Year 2 pupils to Sir Fabian at Government house.
