The school day
Before, during and after school, Blanchelande offers children a day full of academic and co-curricular activities.
When do children need to arrive, and when does school end?
Pupils in Years 3-11 arrive for 8.30 am. For Years 3-6, school finishes at 3.30 pm. For Years 7-11, school finishes at 3.45 pm.
The Infant school day (Reception - Year 2) begins at 9.00 am and finishes at 3.15 pm.
How early can children arrive in the morning?
Breakfast Club runs from 7.45 am to the start of the school day, and offers a nutritious and fun start to the day. Breakfast Club is £4 for Year 3-11, and £5 for Infants (Reception - Year 2). Siblings go for just £2.50 extra.
Pupils in Years 3-11 can arrive at school from 8.00 am, and go straight to either the main hall or the Junior playground.
What extra-curricular activities and clubs can the children join?
A range of activities run during lunchtimes and after school, and a booklet is published termly for pupils and parents. For Infants and Juniors (Reception - Year 6) there is an after-school club between 3.30 pm - 5.30 pm. (This is £6 per hour.)
If your son or daughter plays in a school sports team, fixtures against other schools, generally after school, run throughout the year.
