Infant Admissions
We welcome children to join us from age 2 and a half +(Nursery) or 4+(Reception) as an ideal starting point of their Blanchelande journey.
Meetings and Tours
The Principal or Head of infants meet with every child and their family who would like to join our school. This provides us with an opportunity to learn more about your child as an individual and for you to ask questions. These meetings take place throughout the year and can be booked at your convenience with our registrar. We invite you to have a 1:1 tour to give you an insight into life at Blanchelande and see the school in action at any time.
Taster days and assessment
Children hoping to join our infant department midway through the Reception year or in Year 1 and Year 2 are invited for a free taster day prior to acceptance. This allows the children to become familiar with the school and for the teaching team to meet them. A short, informal assessment will take place in the classroom during this session. Feedback from the day will be shared with parents. Please note that an offer can only be made to families once they have completed the registration process.
If your child would like to experience a specific lesson on their taster day eg Physical Education, Art, Music, French, please let us know and we will ensure this can be arranged.
Open Day
For current or prospective families, there is no better opportunity to see the whole school (Nursery to Sixth Form) in action at our annual College Open day which takes place on the last Saturday of September each year. You will be offered a tour to meet your interests, led by one of our senior school students.
Moving up through the school
Children who join our Infant department naturally transition through to our Junior and Senior departments without any further entrance assessments or registration fees.
